Thomas Matthew (Mathew) was one of the early settlers in Whiteside county, arriving from Scotland im 1834 and in Illinois in 1837. We have completed a "History of the Mathews Family" in 2007 and submitted a copy to Morrison, IL Library and the State Library in Springfield.
